Waiver for Float Your Boat

Parents, I need two waivers signed before Saturday morning so your kids can participate in the float your boat race..
Could you all meet me at the Hallsville Fairgrounds between 6pm & 7pm on Friday night to sign waivers. We can’t sign in our boat until all waivers for their kids are signed by parents.
I have to have them all signed before I go on Saturday morning.

Thank you for being a part of The Food Bank’s Float Your Boat Cardboard Regatta! We are excited to see your creativity and boats in action! Here is the schedule for April 27th:

·         9 a.m. – You can begin checking in your boats and teams at Bass Pro Shops in Columbia, MO.  We need all boats in place and on display before 10:00 a.m. for inspectors and judges to be able to see them. You must have both waivers signed by ALL team members to check-in. Please do this BEFORE arriving at check-in. 

·         10 a.m. – Spectators and the general public begin arriving. People’s Choice tickets (for people to vote) can be purchased at the merch tent until 11 a.m., at which point a volunteer will collect your buckets for counting. If you have any money that you collected for your boat prior to event day, please put that in your bucket or give it to Julie Dorn of The Food Bank staff. 

·         11 a.m. – Let the races begin! We will start with a Short Course and then immediately do an Awards Ceremony for all Short Course teams. We will then start the Long Course races and conclude with an Awards Ceremony for all Long Course teams. There are seven awards that can be won in each course: 

o   1st Place

o   2nd Place

o   3rd Place

o   Allure of the Sea Award – awarded to the team that shows the most effort in engineering, construction and aesthetic. 

o   Captain’s Award – awarded to the team with the most spirit. Costumes, enthusiasm and overall commitment to the theme are taken into consideration.

o   Titanic Award – awarded to the team that sinks in the most spectacular fashion.

o   People’s Choice Award– awarded to the team that raises the most money for The Food Bank and gets the most votes by the general public!
